Allergy testing has become an important asset in offering a complete and co-ordinated holistic approach to weight loss, optimum athletic performance and better health. The scarcity of local allergy specialists and the underfunding of allergy services in the NHS have made overcoming allergies near impossible for many. Meanwhile, the number of individuals who live with food intolerance continues to rise.
Marek is a fully qualified allergy therapist, certified by the BIAET (British Institute of Allergy and Environmental Therapy) and integrates the techniques refined by the Institute to both administer his unique allergy test and to treat allergic problems. Beyond the test itself, Marek's background as a reknowned nutritionist and one of the top personal trainers in the country allows him to provide a fully holistic outlook and a strong platform to restore health quickly.
Allergy is simply defined as an abnormal response by the immune system to the environment. This abnormal response can manifest itself in a number of ways. There are different ways to categorise allergic reactions, the most relevant way of doing so is to separate reactions into categories, giving you:
Type A allergy / Food Allergy: generally instant, involve IgE antibodies and histamine, cause anaphylactic reactions which, in extreme cases like anaphylactic shock, can be life-threatening. The more classically-defined response, these are commonly referred to as Food Allergy. Most people (but not all) with Food Allergies know which food they are allergic to.
Type B allergy / Food Intolerance: delayed onset, involve IgG antibodies, no involvement of histamine, are often considered masked as they can indirectly cause a host of different issues. Weight gain, constant tiredness/illness, aches, headaches, IBS are all examples of this. Commonly referred to as Food intolerance. Most people with Food Intolerances are not aware that they even have intolerances, even though it is quite common (70% of households suffer with intolerance).`
The NHS offer the skinprick test, which is a suitable test for Type A allergic reactions. However, this outdated form of allergy test will not detect any Type B reactions, which are a lot more common. Some doctors do identify with the importance of Type B reactions, but too many (including so-called allergy-experts) prefer not to concern themselves with them! In searching for the perfect allergy test, it becomes clear that it does not exist. However, by taking two of the most useful and accurate allergy tests available and combining them in a single, comprehensive method alongside an incisive case history, Marek is able to offer a much better service. The Combined Allergy Test provides more information, better accuracy and more effective treatment.
Diagnosis method: Combined Allergy Test - £125
(Combined ELISA/Muscle Test)
This test is actually a combination of the two best methods of allergy diagnosis: an ELISA blood test and the pulse test. Blueprint Fitness is the only company to offer this combined service.
Before the appointment, the client completes a diary for three days, recording foods eaten. The pulse is taken several times, before and after meals. This diary is then brought to the appointment. At the start of the appointment, a finger is pricked to draw a tiny bit of blood, which is then diluted and spread across a allergen tray containing samples of 59 allergens. This tray reveals raised elevated of IgG antibodies, a reliable sign of intolerance, and these results are ready in 40 minutes. However, while waiting for the blood test results, Marek also conducts a comprehensive case history and examines any patterns of reactions on the food-pulse diaries. This Combined Test reveals both Type A and Type B reactions (food allergy and intolerance) and includes investigation of any potential reactions to foods, household goods and environmental chemicals, rather than just food only. Although not part of the the standard test, there may be some cases where additional tests may be suggested, such as blood tests for inhalents or a muscle test (which uses kinesiology techniques).
This combined test sets new standards in reliable, informative and user-friendly allergy testing. A better test allows for better understanding and quicker recovery.
Treatment
Treatment advice will vary depending on the individual. Marek's first port of call will be restoring balance within the immune system through nutritional interventions according to the PRT protocol, but will also focus on desensitisation to the trigger food/inhalent. By restoring healthy digestive/immune function as well as targeting specific allergies for desensitisation, Marek avoids the pitfalls of most allergy therapy that aligns itself with one intention or the other. This is intelligent allergy therapy backed by a strong nutritional protocol.
Allergy is a complex and multi-faceted condition that effects individuals in a variety of ways. Treatment recommendations will reflect this, often composed of uprated nutritional intake, hormonal rebalancing, an exclusion diet and desensitizing solutions as appropriate.
